Providing a REFUGE and FORTRESS
We go through issues in life that we don’t even know that God is using them to prepare us for a great future.
I thank God for a day like this. I grew up as a child, not knowing love. My two parents travelled abroad as it was the vogue in those days, leaving three of us behind.
I was the eldest- about three years old. The third one was less than a year old. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it – she died, and so did my grand-parents.Ø Pastor (Mrs) Adebola Jaiye-Ojo is an international Conference speaker, who has travelled far and wide in spreading the gospel concerning women. She is happily married to her sweetheart of 29 years - Mr. Jaiye-Ojo, ace Broadcaster; CEO, AV.com, PREX; Chairman, 341 Media; President, Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN) and a director in Gideon Trust Bank, and their marriage is blessed.
In my early years in nursery school, I was in the boarding house. On visiting days, I like other children, was full of expectation for someone to come and pay me a visit, but it never happened. I fed on leaves as my provision and soaked burnt rice was a delight to me. I felt like an orphan. My cry for help or attention was so weak that none heard.
I am just among the blessed few who went through rough childhood and still standing. I thank God, and that’s why I believe my life was spared so I can rescue with love other children who need help.
In Refuge and Fortress, we want the child to be able to call for help, and as soon as we hear this call or hint, the social worker will swing into action to investigate. Where the child is truly in danger, with the help of the law, the child will be taken away to this new home.
All we are out for in Refuge and Fortress is to give help to the woman and the child. The woman: the passage of life, and the child: the extension of life.
-Supporting Refuge and Fortress is doing yourself a great favour, because the child not taken care of today, may be the armed robber or hired assassin that will come and trouble or kill you and/or your children. The woman not helped, will deny the children of motherly love and care. Even the husband will be struggling as there is no beauty, favour and wisdom in his life.
-Supporting Refuge and Fortress is lending to God which has great dividends.
-Supporting Refuge and Fortress is actually expressing your love to God.
-Supporting Refuge and Fortress is laying a foundation of help, for our generations unborn.
