WHY WE NEED YOU TO PARTNER

OUR CHALLENGES

v  We need computers.

v  We fitness equipments for our gym.

v  Our monthly overhead is  about N500,000. It is a struggle to meet up with our payments.

v We also need resources for vocation training for both in and out patients.

v Supporting Refuge and Fortress is doing yourself a great favour, because the child not taken care of today, may be the armed robber or hired assassin that will come and trouble or kill you and/or your children. The woman not helped, will deny the children of motherly love and care. Even the husband will be struggling as there is no beauty, favour and wisdom in his life.

OUR MODE OF OPERATION

v We have provision for resident and non-resident clients who come in for counselling.

v Counsellors are to attend to the needs of these clients. They  also undertake telephone counselling and follow ups. 

v We have a Consultant psychiatrist as the co-ordinator and social worker on board who investigate the needs and cases of these clients.  We also have an administrator, carers and volunteers who care for these clients.

v  A clinic with a team of seasoned counselors as consultants to be coordinated by a trained psychiatrist. These are counselors who can identify with the various problem of these women by virtue of their own experiences.

v An audio-visual room for viewing or listening by counselees.

v A library storing  audio-visual materials to enhance counseling because people hardly forget what the see.

v A spa for relaxation exercise, etc.

v Social assessment by seasoned social workers.

v Vocational training for both in and out patients.

v Going to schools, churches, gathering to show films that will encourage the women and children.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

“Counselling the woman to be suitable, adaptable and complementary to her environment in order to fulfil purpose, and giving the child a chance to make a difference to his/her world”.

OUR AIM

In accomplishing our mission, we have set up a temporary home (Refuge and Fortress) to cater for the needs of these women and children. Our aim is to depopulate psychiatric hospitals and remand homes with God’s love and word to these women and children for a total transformation.

We reside in a six room duplex with 11 bed spaces for adults and 10 for children, a sitting/prayer room upstairs, kitchen, store, offices, audio-visual room (Revelation room) and meeting/conference room and counseling room downstairs.
